Have you ever had your heart broken? If you have to question that I assure you that you most likely haven’t been there and GOD BLESS YOU dear soul!
It is a humbling thing to walk through a continuous flow of emotions all within a few hours and seemingly without your control. One minute you’re enraged and envisioning how it would feel to grip, squeeze and extract the trachea of your enemy. Yes, extreme I know, but let’s not pretend that our thoughts don’t go far left at times. The next you’re a sobbing mess curled up head to knees in a fetal position replaying what they said, their tone, their facing expressions, their silences, their overall disrespect.
It hurts the most when it was someone you trusted. It breaks your heart when you never saw it coming.
If you’re anything like me, I have had some very strong moments of disdain towards my heart. How dare I still care about those who took advantage of my love. They snapped it in two without even blinking. The unmitigated gall of ME to wonder if they’re ok!
Have you ever challenged your flesh in a hand-to-hand battle in prayer?
“Yes I know you didnt deserve that, but love anyway.”
“I get it, you have nothing but curse words and revenge bubbling up within you, but love anyway.”
“Yep! It would feel so good to see them exposed…shut up, stop imagining their demise, and love anyway.”
The stance of your heart is a choice.
To the one who is in the healing process, I understand, but do not let that thing that happened to you turn your heart to stone.
Today’s challenge…Love Anyway.
With love,
Marsha
